Well today I have alot to be thankful for. I can walk out to my back yard and see my flourishing vege patch with all kinds of healthy veges for us to eat. Thank you Lord. I can look around at other parts of the garden and see the beautiful flowers, some already here when we moved in and some I have planted myself just recently.
I am also very thankful that today was a sunny day and I was able to get down to the Sunday markets again and set up a stall with all of the things I have been collecting to sell. And I sold heaps! This time I made a really good profit and only had a very small amount of items left which I donated to the Saint Vincent De Paul store on the way home. I took my little son (4) and my baby (6 months) with me and they were so well behaved. God is good. He provides. And most of the things I sold were given to us in the first place so really we lost nothing. It has been a good day.

Rain

Today we had rain, all day. Was it good? Well YES! I say this because yesterday was such a HOT day and the past week has been quite hot and we are all partially sunburnt so it is great to have a break from the heat. It's funny how in the middle of winter and throughout autumn and spring I wish it would stop raining and then in summer I wish it would. Also it's great to get some rain when I'm flat out busy and watering the garden is on my neverending list of things to do. God waters it for me some days and I thank Him for it. Seems we humans often want what we haven't got and then when we get it we want something else. This can be true in many areas for me marriage, children, work/home, family situations, money etc. I need to try to be content wherever I am, whatever I'm doing.

baby chicks

Nearly the end of 2008. Another year flown by. Makes me realize (again!) that I need to treasure every moment especially with my loved ones and while the children are still young, cause in the blink of an eye they'll be grown up and gone to live their adult lives away from my little nest.

Family

It's nice to have family. Some lovely family members have taken my eldest out for the day for a special treat just them and her. She will go for a drive, maybe a swim, have some lunch somewhere nice and a look around at some shops. I'm sure it will be a lovely day for them. I am at home with my other three children, hubby is at work nearby and it's another nice sunny day. I do have some busy, busy, days and feel like I really need a break and time to myself quite often, but I love my kids. They enjoy time out too and feel special when they go just by themselves with someone for a day out. I look forward to hearing all about it when my daughter comes home later this afternoon.

Happiness in the garden

It's a hot day in chilly New Zealand. It's funny how all winter long ( and it is a very long winter here) we look forward to the sunny days of summer and then when at last summer finally hits, many people complain about the heat. I do at times. I never really enjoyed the heat of Queensland but it does get us outdoors. I've been planting veges in the vege patch and they are growing well. We have already eaten all of our first lot of lettuces and I've now put more in. I also have beetroots, lots of silverbeets, spring onions and of course my favourite thing to grow, tomatoes! They are sooooooooooooooo nice fresh from the garden. Everything is so nice fresh from the garden. I have been working on the flower bed out the front too which is looking nice and colourful. I am grateful for my health and the eagerness I have to get out there and pull weeds, plant etc etc. The fruits of my labour are worth it! I reckon the Garden of Eden would've been such an amazing place to be and to eat from!

Today is another sunny day. The kids are in the water outside again. I fell a bit like most people I suppose after the christmas celebrations...........too many sweets! We have so much food in our country we are very blessed but we definately take it for granted by eating far too much! I need to get myself sorted out and not do this! I finally got to put a photo on my blog and hope to put a few more when I get the chance. This is of myself and my 3rd born baby. I now have four but thought I'd put this photo cause it's quite nice. Hubby is back at work after having five days off over christmas and we are off to a friend's house for dinner tonight for a bbq. Aren't bbq's great in the summer season? See ya for now. SHarell

What a lovely day

It is a beautiful sunny day here today with a slight breeze. I usually don't like the hot hot days of summer but with a cool breezed blowing it is very enjoyable. One of the great things about summer is that the children can go outside to play for hours. They just received a new waterslide for christmas which attaches to a hose and they love it! They run up and slide all the way to the end. It's even more fun if you put some dishliquid on it! I'm thankful that hubby mowed the lawn the other day too so they have a nice smooth lawn to put the waterslide on. I can hear the birds singing and children laughing. God is good.
